Help has arrived

I pulled into Redmond yesterday afternoon and found Lou. He has been staying on a friend's property while he remodels his trailer.

So far, he has had a new, longer, beefier frame made and has transferred the body to it. The fact he needs to still live in the trailer complicates things. He has the process planned out, though, and we'll meet after breakfast to discuss what's next and how I can help.

  1. Is he planning to leave the wheels in that position, or is he moving then toward the back of the platform ?

    1. The wheels/axle are just clamped in place at the moment. They will be repositioned after all the other heavy bits are in place so that he gets the proper tongue weight.

  2. Wouldn't it better to have 2 axles & 2 wheels to hold all the bardo's weight ?

    1. Lou has carefully calculated the finished weight and then got an axle and tires rated for that weight. But the trailer is surprisingly light, because Lou used to build airplanes and boats. He knows how to make things light yet strong.
