  3. In all my stateside travels, I've never been to Bryce. Perhaps you can appreciate how very much I've enjoyed these pictures? Many thanks. But what inexplicably catches my attention to a lesser degree is that handrail out of twisted gnarled weathered wood. Was it effective? Could you put weight against it? How was it attached to supporting poles? What genius said to themself, "Hey, this ought to work just fine?"

    1. It's not a guard rail, just a branch or root of a tree off to the right. There are guard rails at the official viewpoints, but not on the trails between viewpoints, where that photo was taken.
