This time of year, with the sun low in the sky, I spend more time with a hand shading my eyes. Or positioning myself so something else keeps the sun out of my eyes. Or intentionally turning my back to the sun. Hats and sunglasses help, but not always. I've chuckled a few times when I realize a group of us are doing the same thing, like we're saluting an unseen commander. "Aye-aye,
Sir!" But I'd rather have sun in my eyes than gloomy overcast.
