    I can reach the inside handle from the passenger seat. But I'm going to try some epoxy putty.

    Amazing fix it stuff to buy online called "Sugru."
    WILL truly fix just about anything. Google it. It is amazing.

    UPDATE: The epoxy putty seems to be working great.
