I spent years thinking about different places I could live when I eventually retired. For a few days I was in love with the idea of a house boat.
Then I came to my senses.
The maintenance would be worse than a regular house. And I'd be only slightly less trapped in one place. A lake, a river, a bay...
Staring at water is high on my list, but traveling is higher. Much higher. And there are far more roads than navigable waterways. And like they say, why buy when you can rent?
But still, that's abt the homiest lookin' I've seen. Is it for rent?
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a houseboat but the reality is I get seasick very easily and I am afraid of large bodies of water. So this is NOT on my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteThere'd be more bugs and weird smells, too.
ReplyDeleteHad a few friends in Seattle 20 million years ago when you could get a houseboat for a reasonable price..
ReplyDeleteFound out a turntable (for records) do not work very well on a houseboat....
