Foiled by fog

Yesterday was mostly cloudy with occasional showers. Not great for us solar users. In order to get an early start charging my batteries in the morning, I picked a campsite with a large clearing, away from the shadow of mountains. Being smart, thinking ahead, right?.

  1. Just out of curiosity; on a day like this what amount of charging did you get ?

  2. This particular day the fog burned off by 9:00, then it was solar charging business as usual. The amount of charging possible on foggy or overcast days depends on how thick the coverage is and how long it's like that. I can usually have a full charge before sundown. That's with a 270W panel charging two 104Ah batteries.
