All the years I worked in Southern California I thought about calling in sick and going to the beach instead. So here I am, on a work day morning, hanging at Huntington Beach with the other hooky players, night workers, retirees and jobless. Sweet.
And you can do it again tomorrow and the next day and...
Ain't retired life grand? I lived in NV part time for a few years.. so thanks for the prior posts that reminded me of some of the best spots and also a new one.
Shrug. When I lived in Southern California, it was no big deal to drive to Las Vegas and back for a weekend. I was just a little north of LV. It's a 4-hour drive with a lunch break. Not fun, but it's better than sitting in the desert heat.
Camping only in campgrounds. I'm in a hotel right now, then I'll be at Doheny State Beach for a couple of days. However, I've street camped overnight in Huntington Beach before, in a neighborhood of apartments. No problems.

DeleteAre the LEO's active in that beach area, or are you able to camp without been bothered ?
