Capped

The past week it seemed I was breathing almost exclusively through my nose, not the tracheostomy tube. So I’m experimenting with capping it off. So far, so good. Maybe I can convince the doctors it’s time to remove the tube and sew me back up.

  1. I hope they say yes. Life would improve rather dramatically for you.

  2. I wondered why they had done it in the first place...now I know. Learning a lot. I admire your attitude.

  3. Patience is needed by the patient. You don't know how your body is going to respond to the final stages of the treatment. It is only a few weeks away until it will come out. You are tough enough to hang in there that long.

    1. True, but they said at the beginning they might be able to remove it part way through treatment, and the doctor said Tuesday there's a noticeable increase in the airway. I have no choice but to wait until they think the time is right. But I can hope it's soon.
