Ghost town

Lake Valley, New Mexico, is another mining town that dried up when the ore did. However, a couple of people hung on there until the late 1990s.

  1. I stumbled across this interesting place in 2008 or 2009. Spent most of the day meandering around the area with my camera working over time. It was a neat stop.

  3. If there were metal detectors for faded dreams, this place would make it beep.

  4. No Squatters? Is there a water supply? The buildings are unlocked? Why don't people just move in?

    1. Part of it is managed by the BLM (and there's an employee/host on site) and part of it is private property that's fenced off, locked up.
