The rain eventually moved on, and so did I. I'm at the
Bird Island Basin campground in the Padre Island National Seashore, on the Laguna Madre side of the island. It's one of the top windsurfing spots, which means it's mighty breezy.
Laguna Madre also has a higher salt concentration than the ocean, which means you'll float better when you fall off your board.
To be more specific, the Laguna Madre has a higher salt concentration than any other part of the connected ocean. (not higher than a place like the Dead Sea, of course)
